Priority pass lounges seem to be a step down from airline lounges. Plus they only allow guests for a $27 fee.
The loss of AA lounges and now Delta lounges devalues to Amex Platinum card substantially. Its a game changer and I might drop the card that I had since 1991.
A contract lounge is a lounge operated by a third party and then contracted out to 10+ airlines. For example, I was just in Dublin. The Lounge there was contracted out to Delta, Turkish, etc, etc. So as a result, you won't get the airline specfic look and feel and benefits, but you get food, drinks, magazines, wifi, etc.
