I'm guessing it would work with the leading zeroes. DL.com always seems to prepend five 0s in front of mine (14 digits total), which makes it long enough to appear truncated on the boarding pass, and the miles credit just fine...
Perhaps. I am waiting for AS answer to my email to be sure about what to do.
