I moved to Omaha in Jan 2011 from Portland, OR.

I was supposed to stay five years.

I went from working 6 days a week to 3 and made the same income.

Every day I woke up I hated my life more than I did the day before. (I had never been unhappy with my life).

After 19 months I had enough. Moved to AZ and cannot believe I wasted 19mos of my life in that barren wasteland.

There is NOTHING to do there unless you love college sports and drinking alcohol.

There is even less to do in Lincoln.

Chain restaurants are big with Nebraskans; there are very few nice restaurants there.

Please do not have high hopes for your trip. Just enjoy the time with your folks.
