What would you say to one of your staff who had to turn up at work in jeans and a T shirt because BA had mislaid his luggage and he had no change of clothes because he checked in his bag and did not bring enough carry on luggage to manage without his checked bag?

I would be tempted to fire someone who did this for being bloody stupid and not doing any contingency planning.
