Per AC website: * Note: Altitude Super Elite 100K/Elite 75K/Elite 50K and Star Alliance Gold members may board with members of their immediate family (including spouse, common-law or same sex partner and dependent children).

I don't know about priority security, sorry, cant help there. I do recommend Nexus for you and your family, since my family all received Nexus and Global Entry, travelling has been much easier.
That's a stupid rule.
I recently traveled with a friend on a separate PNR. The concierge checked us in and tagged our bags (she only cared that
one of us was SE). We got into priority security without any issues. We got into the lounge without any issues. And we did priority boarding together, no problem.
If I'm flying with someone, they're coming with me wherever I go. Even if they're not a spouse, common-law, or same-sex partner, or a dependent child. Although I suppose if you're with just one other person, they'd probably be either young enough to claim they're a dependent child, or old enough to claim they're a common-law partner
