Are Economy Lowest Flights that are available on AS available to be booked at "standard" avios points? I see that people recommend using AA but when I go there, there is no availability in MileSaver. On AS, the flights I want are available in Economy Lowest at 27.5k each way. Trip is from YYC to HNL which is between 3-4k miles so should cost 20k BA miles if there is the proper availability.
Thanks for your help.
1. AS does not fly YYC-HNL; it flies YYC-SEA-HNL.
2. BAEC charges for each flight flown, so you would pay so 4,500 Avios for the YYC-SEA flight, plus 12,500 Avios for the SEA-HNL nonstop.
3. While 27,500 AS miles may be the lowest
available redemption on the date checked, I'm pretty sure that it's not the lowest rate on AS' redemption chart -- which is what you would need for an Avios redemption. I think AS refers to its lowest-tier award seats as "Super Saver." If Super Saver seats on AS are available, then they should come up on an aa.com award search.
