Just recently had a lovely Swiss (!) EK employee who said she is quite happy with the working conditions there, and that she made a quick career there and is now earning at about the same levels than with Swiss, but with much lower expenses, and a much more interesting schedule.
Also had an interesting chat with a EK Chief Pilot from Germany. Nice chap, giving me a proper 777 cockpit tour (after landing, of course) and talking to me about a lot of differences between LH and EK. He seemed VERY happy to have gone to EK rather than stayed at LH (where he was, if understood correctly (Lots of Dom did their work on me..) flying A320s between FRA and LHR, CDG, MAD, BCN etc. etc. etc. for years and years) - and now made it to chief pilot just within 6 years at EK.
Not just those two nice EK staff, but pretty much EVERY staff I've talked to from EK were genuinely happy (this is something you can see, especially if you talk to them in your mother tongue) about their job there, and while they had some complaints, none of them regretted their move at all.
So please, your "arguments" are all but true..
Two employees, I am impressed. @:-)
But as pointed out before, for those who did not make it at LH or LX, the Gulf is always an option. And for the truly poor souls, there is always AB.

As with any large organization- not everyone is going to be happy at any given point in time.
Again, AZ Express E170 or being able to fly a widebody, which would have been twenty years away at Alitalia is a no brainer for a lot of people. ^
