I'm interested in experimenting to see if being added as an authorized user to my dad's amex gold card that he's had since 1985 will improve my credit score at all since it will likely end up on my score and will hopefully increase my average account age or improve something else, but I just asked him and he seems to think there's a fee to add an authorized user on this account.... does anybody know of that being true of amex gold cards? Just wondering if maybe he's confused because I've never had to pay to add an authorized user.
