What GS means now...

Flying today to EWR and checked on flight and found it was cancelled - big surprise actually.

Called the GS line and put on hold - then agent comes on and asks how can I help you Mr. Bmwe92fan?

I said my flight is cancelled - as are all other flights to EWR from my airport today.... Hmmm - let's see. "Why - you are right! How can I help you?"

Can you check other flight options for me?

"I don't see anything sir."

JetBlue has seats.

"We don't work with them"

Delta has seats to LGA

"Hmm - let me see. Wow they do - would you like me to get you one?"

Yes I would!

A while later she comes back with my record locator and asks if she can do anything else - I ask if delta will waive the bag fee since I know I'm going to have to pay (not a member) - and also point out how much more I will have to pay a taxi to get back to New Jersey from LGA...

After an uncomfortable pause she tells me it's weather and they won't cover anything. Sorry that's policy. So angry I just hang up....

FWIW - They cancelled the flights not because of weather - but because they eliminated the segments coming up and back from my airport - every other airline is fine to the area today from my home airport.... The issue was my plane started in Charlotte, NC 3 hours late this morning and couldn't catch up (LOL probably crew rest) ....

I am now getting ready to jump on board the flight to LGA and I would like to introduce myself as Delta's newest Skymiles member!!!!!!!

For all you wondering how great GS is to be - don't waste your time.
