Voluntary Downgrade Costs More?

Hello everyone,

First time trying to use Skypass miles and having some odd issues.

I am trying to book a flight from ATL>ICN>PUS (Busan, South Korea) on Prestige Class.

On the day all the Prestige Class seats are available on all legs, it will cost 125,000 miles RT.

However, on the day I prefer to travel, there's no Prestige Class seats on the short ICN>PUS flight. When I offered to take a voluntary downgrade to Economy Class for the ICN>PUS segment only, the miles required jumped up to 135,000 miles.

So it will cost extra 10,000 miles to downgrade? Is this correct?

Has anyone else run into this issue? I've talked to many Malaysian reps and they are not much of help.

Thanks.
