More importantly, will SGS be locking up the booze if there are elections in early February? I can live with protests and smoking by the pool, but no alcohol over the long Chinese New Year weekend would be the straw that breaks this particular back. Minibars don't count for me. I'm talking cocktails in the lounge and beer/wine at the Sala. Priorities, folks.
Dear I Claudius,
Should the elections go ahead on February 2 (and this is still uncertain), the authorities will ban the sale and consumption of alcohol in public areas from 18.00 hrs. (6 pm.) Saturday, February 1 through to midnight on Sunday, February 2 (00.00 hrs. on February 3). But the consumption of alcohol in the privacy of a guestroom or suite is permitted. I hope this clarifies the situation.
