For those who share that point of view: it is possible to refuse. I have RBC Avion infinite, BA Infinite, CIBC infinite plus many others. When I asked for the BA cc, they wanted my CRA statement. I refused. They said they would "request an exception" and I got the card.
It might make a difference that I'm applying for the Infinite Privilege card. The rep is making a case for me, without having to meet the $200,000 income requirement.
At least give them a call and see if they require NOAs or not. But I will admit that Amex has requested T4s before on one of my and my wife's apps. Not a big deal, just give them what they need.
