That's enough for me not to go into that game. I never fed any cc card issuer with any personal paper. I consider that they need my business at least as much as I need theirs, so if credit reports are not enough for them, and if they become that intrusive, too bad.
For those who share that point of view: it is possible to refuse. I have RBC Avion infinite, BA Infinite, CIBC infinite plus many others. When I asked for the BA cc, they wanted my CRA statement. I refused. They said they would "request an exception" and I got the card.
