If Am Ex was still reimbursing Delta the same amount as before, they would have probably left the guesting policy alone and/or would do what American is doing and not allow any card swipes at all. Seeing the downgrade in liquor and the outsourcing of bartenders Delta's expenses have to be going down and it wouldn't make sense for them to stop this source of revenue.
I would also love to know how much Delta receives from Am Ex per visit and if the contract price changes on May 1. There would have to be some kind of contract in place and it probably expires on April 30.
I hope the changes indeed cut back on the crowds.
