JDiver- short haul European flying like LON-PAR is inferior to Eurostar/TGV, given the haul out to LHR and in from CDG, as opposed to train stations well inside London and Paris, no need for security theatre and boarding scrums. Oh, and the pitch in second class is pretty good (let alone first class). Train travel is a very viable option on short, 150-400 mile journeys.
Also, the OP mentions several sources of miles: NH isn't one of them.

Don't forget about accessibility to Belgium from London on the train depending on the other cities you wish to see, especially if you wish to tour Northern Europe.
