Noone at AC has the power to fix wrong tickets

Today I finally understood the message I've read here repeatedly, that when things go badly wrong with an AC ticket, there is noone empowered to fix it.

17 phone calls over a 24 hour period, 30-60 minutes long, and noone had any power to fix things.

"A supervisor will call back". They can't get a lead to handle it. But they didn't, ever.

Lots of advice, much of it contradictory and allegorical: Oh no, don't check-in before it gets fixed. Oh, yes, it probably will screw your upgrade request. If you fly the first leg before this is fixed, yes you won't get points. Sorry, we can't help. Admissions that it is a culture problem. Agents are very angry about how the booking code changes were done.

Montreal staff have noone they can call to solve a problem. St. Johns staff say "oh, the person I could ask is on lunch now". Happened twice today.

Know how I got it fixed? I said I was going to buy a brand new ticket, and charge the damage back after the fact. Suddenly they found a lead, who solved it rapidly.

So basically to get things done you gotta make a threat?

Very sad.

detail: 48-hours before flight, I find it is seriously mis-ticketed. 15 agents are not empowed to fix or or find someone to fix it; after i finally receive the result, the particulars are simply "SKDCHNG".
