Why pick BKK for this trial - long flight time perhaps? If there is a very low uptake are they still likely to go ahead with this (stupid) plan?

I don't want to pay the premium for WBC to find the lounges full. I know that sounds a bit "DYKWIA" but what I mean is that you PAY for the peace and quiet of the lounge. You may as well sit in the terminal if its going to be as busy....

And charging Ivory members for a checked bag one year after saying to people "sign up to Flying Blue and you won't have to pay" looks like the worst kind of double-dealing
