Fast forward today I see my miles for monthly spend post with TD in parentheses, so I have been sold.
I guess CIBC got more than $120 per customer transferred on 31 December.
I will call to cancel, I have the cardholder agreement at hand if ever they say they cannot close during transition period.
Of course it just means more $$ and miles for me in the long term, I'll feign outrage.
Outrage feigned. Agent spent a grand total of about one minute trying to convince me not to cancel (it is not going to TD until June/you might lose your points if no transactions in 12 months). Once I told her these did not change my mind, she then hit on me for a new CIBC card and told me "the world is now your oyster". I declined to re-apply in same call for a new CIBC Aerogold card, but will most certainly be doing so for 20k FYF.
