International Borders and Children with Same Sex Parents
My husband and I are soon to take our first international trip with our adopted daughter. We of course have a passport for her, and we will bring her birth certificate (which shows both of us as the fathers), but I was wondering if anyone here has experienced any problems when crossing a border with a child.
We obviously won't be taking her to Saudi Arabia or Russia, but we would like to take her to countries where attitudes towards gay people are not necessarily as advanced as they should be. We are looking at Anguilla, initially, which I understand is not hostile but not exactly warm to gay people. But it's possible that we will have to take separate flights down there, which would mean that I would be traveling solo with our daughter (with a notarized letter from him). I'm just a little concerned that the border agents might see a letter from the "other dad" and decide to interrupt our travel.
Anyone here have anecdotes or particular countries we should avoid?
