Here we go again - the JER DO, 2014.

All welcome, membership of BAEC or FT not compulsory!! Looking forward to seeing new faces as well as previous attendees.

Come for the day? A couple of days? A long weekend? The options are endless!!

Please note the Wiki Post (click the + button top right in the blue banner at the top of this thread) with details of attendees and Booked Flights.

Date/Time … Saturday 26 July, 1200 - 1830 ... there's another booking just in from 1900, so those still on-site will have to continue downstairs, or elsewhere. Radisson?

Location …
  • The Bar, St Helier [on the Waterfront by Cineworld, and near the Radisson Bleu].
  • The Bar's website is here with their Menu etc.
Food and Drink.
  • We will have the Upstairs Bar and Terrace ^
  • The kitchen will be in operation for us from 1200-1800: so basically eat when you wish. I'm conscious that everyone's different arrival times and overall schedules makes a single sitting rather impractical.
  • PLEASE don't all try to order at the same time, or the kitchen will get swamped!!
  • Yes, they take Amex
Anything happening in the evening will evolve once we know who's going to be staying overnight. Indeed, other things may evolve over the next 6 months, but at least I have made a start. Watch this space!

General Info …
  • Currency is £STG, but we have our own banknotes/coins. UK notes/coins mingle freely with ours, but any JER notes you take back to UK will have to changed at a bank. You can always ask for UK notes when receiving change: most establishments oblige if they have any.
  • Shops are almost all closed on Sunday.

  • Click here for Bus details. The No.15 Airport bus runs every 20 minutes, costs £1.50, and takes about 40 minutes to Town. Taxi to Town will be about £15.
  • The current, free, "What's On" booklet and Visitor Maps are on the left as you enter Baggage Reclaim, and also in the Arrivals lobby.
  • Customs allowance is 200 cigarettes and 1L of spirits (etc). You will be hammered by Customs if you exceed that, so don't listen to what they might say at Duty Free in UK about "Nobody bothers" ... just ask stevieed what can happen!
  • ... and don't forget to bring a pen. You will need one for the Quiz!

And ... Nerina Pallot is performing at the Jersey Opera House on 26 July (starts at 20:00).
