Tango fares on this route are starting to make more sense. I am now seeing abundant ~$600 RT flights for departures on Tuesdays through Thursdays. Some Fridays and Saturdays also have these prices. This ~$600 price tag is about $200 cheaper than the typical good deal "old" flex price of $800. The "new" flex up-charge is still around $400-$500.
I am not very interested in tango fares, so this will continue to drive some of my purchases to UA's option on this route where I can receive 100% miles at two-thirds the cost of AC. For those who don't care about mile accumulation, these now more sensibly-priced new tango fares are attractive.
It's nice to see these new tango fares actually offering the lower price-point that is often implied.
