I was coming back from Milan in August last year and bought some parma ham from the shop in the airport - one for myself and one for my sister. Anyway, result was my bag got pulled for secondary searching. The lady who did it explained that ham can look like explosive material on the scanner. The ham was packed in my full rucksack so took some time to empty - but it was all fairly pleasent experience and I was not in any rush for my connection.

Here are the offending items. Next time I will put them in a separate plastic bag so that should make the process easier and quicker.
