A few weeks ago I had the opposite situation. I was flying CDG-XXX-YYY-ZZZ. When I arrived XXX, I received an email from Delta apologizing and letting me know that I was automatically rebooked on a nonstop CDG-YYY and YYY-ZZZ on a later flight (and missing an upgrade). I called Delta and the first thing they asked was "How did you get to XXX? We have no records of you being on the AirFrance Flight from CDG to XXX." It took a while but they cleared up their mess by the time I arrived to YYY.
