Has anyone had positive experiences with the concierge when researching things outside of the USA (but with an American card)?

I asked for baby photographers in Loughborough. Took months to get a list of photographers actually in Loughborough rather than London. By this time the baby was no longer a newborn.

I asked for castle rentals in rural England and I sent a link to one website which i knew did these. Got sent a list of apparent rentals in cities (including one in Spain).

I asked for gift suggestions for someone in the UK and was directed to a website which doesn't deliver outside of North America.

Recently I asked for party suggestions in a particular part of the UK and was sent a list of shows in London and open top bus tours in London. These are more touristy things than ideas for a birthday party for a 30 yr old expat returning to visit his school friends.

I have had a better experience when phoning requests in, eg "I'm in <city> and it is midnight. Can you find me a bar which is open late and close to <street>"
