Make sure the pictures are close up on the corners of the bike box. Bike boxes are specifically dropped only on the corner where the fork is sitting . The damage (ie bent forks) will only be visible after you try to assemble the bike - usually when you get home. By that time, you've got no claim as you have left the airport. Check the bike before leaving the collection area. Been there - been bitten by that. On the flip side, the very very nice lady at check-in failed to charge me for the 2 bike boxes we were traveling with It cost $200 to fix the fork - exactly what was saved by not paying for shipping the bike. For what its worth, we were flying to SYD in paid Business about 1.5 yrs ago.
