My wife and I recently got AMEX platinum charge card and despite the recent changes think it is still worthwhile. I enjoy the hotel and rental car status, and the FHR benefit as well as Centurion Lounge access.
We are going to move most of our flying to DL. I was looking at the Delta Reserve card and thought this would be valuable because of the MQM miles and the ability to circumvent the MQD requirement if I spend $25000, which shouldn't be too difficult.
I will fly enough to get Silver or Maybe Gold, so the MQM miles would bump me to the next level, and having a Delta branded card will allow me to do mileage runs to get higher status. The companion ticket and waived baggage fees would also be nice,
I know the lounge access would be redundant.
The fee for the reserve is expensive, but not onerous for me.
My question is, am I crazy for considering carrying both cards? Does anyone else do this? Is my calculus incorrect in thinking this would be worth it?
I'm interested in hearing other's thoughts on this.
