Yes they did. However, due to visa issues, The bulk of the passengers require visas to get into the country for the hotels. The visas have to be filled in with 2 passport photos which none of us carry.
some 14 hours after we landed in baku, the authorities approved emergency visas that did not require photos. at 4pm local time, We were split up into 2 groups. F and J passengers were sent to Sheraton airport hotel while Y class were sent to another hotel(Hilton I think) slightly further away.
At the hotel, we are allowed to make a 5 min international call home and eat at the restaurant which was charged to SQ. we were rested til 10 pm before we checked out for our flight back to SG. Some passengers even walked from the hotel to the airport as it was so near.
