First off, I'm applying now for the Infinite Privilege Card as it earns 1.25 points per $1. Something admittedly for some reason, I did not know, but now I know.

The process.. Anyone under $200,000 income can apply. I stated unequivocally that I don't have the $200,000 household income, but I do have $150K in annual cc spend. She does not require proof for either to proceed with the application.

I want to be discreet about this, but depending on who you deal with in-branch, the rep maybe able to go to bat for you for a better deal than the annual $399 fee.

We'll see what happens.. She pulls up my credit history. All R1s. $0 balance on a million line of credit. Mortgage free, own my own home. All my Amex balances have shown up. Even my old CIBC $50K limit showed up on my credit bureau. I'm about as squeaky clean as an applicant can get.

She questioned why I didn't have credit hits lately checking for my credit. I just applied for 6 Amex's in the past 2 or 3 years. There's my confirmation that Amex doesn't conduct a credit check every time I put in a new Amex application. Rather, Amex goes off my spend history for consideration.

Will give her a set of 2011 and 2012 NOAs. I'll need to sign a form Wednesday. She has to contact Equifax for administrative purposes. Thereafter, she'll be negotiating on my behalf for approval.

So I'll go for the Privilege first.. failing that, I'll go for the Infinite card.
nice... i'm not sure whether you posted this earlier... do you bank with td? did you knwo the rep (previously)?
