There is no foreign transaction fee,actually purchases over a low limit of 100 usd are done in instalments,those are converted to TRY on the day you use the card,but you pay over,say 5 months,so bcs the TRY is consintenly loosing value,you gain if you have foreign curency!!!
An example.
Charged apr 4000 Eur, in Nov 2013 at the rate of apr: 1 TRY=2,70 Eur,makes apr 10.800 TRY..
10.800 TRY divided by 5 makes 2160 TRY each month,by Nov rates,apr 800 euro.
2.160 TRY by todays rate of apr 2,95,makes apr 732 euro.
But,unfortunately,I have a nagging feeling that this is will change,since efectively the bank is consistently loosing money on all foreign transactions of their customers,and there is no reason to believe that the TRY will strenghten,rather the oposite,Im afraid,in spite of my litle personal gains from this!!
