Is the STPC automatic or do I need to apply for it somewhere?
I have had aprox 8 STPC's flying F and J lately. And it all worked out automatic. No application needed, at least in my case.
When you arrive and enter the arrival terminal, you just walk over to the reception desk situated between the Al Maha Arrivals Lounge and the left hand side of the lineup for immigration. Present your case at the desk and they will hand over your vouchers and direct you the 5 meters to the mentioned Al Maha lounge. The staff at Al Maha will take care of all the rest for you, including immigration and escort you to the transfer limo which drive you to the hotel.
It is known that sometimes the STPC is not registered when you arrive at the desk, but if you are within the qualifying frame, they will sort it out for you. With STPC you will normaly stay at Oryx Rotana, but I have also had my hours at Mövenpick.
So I'm happy to say that in some cases QR do get better...^
