Many thanks, DL17. I got into photography before getting the travel bug, and they make for very complimentary hobbies.

Cheers, mkjr Yes, Israel was definitely more expensive than Jordan, but probably the same as most western countries I would guess.

Yes, took a while to get used to all the security. The soldiers in the plaza were pretty relaxed. The border guards were pretty uptight though. They were wearing civvies, i.e. jeans, jacket, shoes & sunnies, and were carrying AR-15 assault rifles. Actually looked a bit more intimidating than if they were wearing army uniforms. Didn't take any pics, but they barked at a lady who had her cellphone out taking pics at the border.
