I agree with re the profits but if profits are down, and they will be if allowable rises are less than inflation, experience tells me that investment will be lower as a result, as the investors will want their cut.
I was being a bit tongue in cheek regarding the airlines, but if LHR was not the best airport on offer they would move elsewhere and who can blame HAL for exploiting the position of having the best London airport. Surely long term is is better if the other airports upped their game to provide real competition than trying to fix the market and end up a load of mediocre airports.
OT can you lobby for a LHR -JER service, even less options now to get from GOC to my favourite island now Flybe have culled the LBA -SOU route.
