Sounds like the holding pen at LAX T2 for AKL-LHR via LAX pax on NZ1/2 same plane flight (which also requires immigration processing at LAX
), at least until the toilets got broken. Since then pax have had to be let loose in the terminal. That was many months ago and it still hasn't been fixed.
