Is the 757-200 the only equipment that can fly LIH-SFO? Can the 753 make it?

Do you think that UA will use the lie-flat 752 rather than reserve a few domestic 752s rather than retire them?

I wonder if they could make the schedule work for that?

OTOH, the current schedule might work out better for the business traveler originating in Hawaii - they get a day flight to SFO with decent connections everywhere except the east coast and good connections in SFO for the return trip.

I also wonder whether there's a schedule that has good fleet utilization as the current one. Also, I wonder if UA is intentionally overnighting the equipment at HNL for maintenance?
