I flew United MGA-IAH-ORD-YVR in Y on Jan 1. I'm an SE *G member.

I had a C booking but I had to change it, and by that time everyone had already been upgraded so only Y space was available. So I bought a new ticket in the Y cabin and saved the C ticket for another time.

Checkin at MGA allowed me take one bag slightly over 50lbs, 53lbs to be exact.

Overnight in ORD, and in the morning they wanted $200 for the overweight bag.

This was not at the premier checkin mind you, I thought it wouldn't matter. Agent was extremely grumpy and not helpful at all, there was another issue with the machine not printing bag tags properly and she didn't get it, this took me about 10 mins to straighten out.
