Its simply the usage of the plane. By tracing back 1 flight that went HNL-SFO went EWR-HNL and CDG-EWR and EWR-CDG. Meaning they fly at whatever hour works best to keep the rotation in tact (yea I know we are talking about UA) so the plane can only fly HNL-SFO after it gets in from EWR. Of cause they could change the rotation but that wont mean they could utilize the 764 then SFO-HNL and no way will UA set aside some 764s just to HI. Yea they did it with the 777 but maybe they dont plan to keep them or for whatever reason it didnt pay to change them into the iNTL config
