Everyone's response to jetlag is very different, I don't get it at all, which is just as well given my schedule, but I do plan a bit. So in the case of that flight I'd wake up a few hours early for several days beforehand, plan on either 4 or 6 hours sleep (never 5 or 7) on board, definitely no alcohol but plenty of other liquids, get some exercise outdoors on arrival in Hong Kong and target 21:00 hours HK time for bed. So I'd get a whole day out of it. I do different things on different routes/times, but that's what I did for that that one and its current CX alternative.
Very interesting. Being a sufferer of jet lag and having tried most CX/BA flight regularly to HK I have done the following to mitigate it:
1. Reset body clock prior to travel by waking up earlier. I generally wake up at 5am the for a few nights before travelling.
2. If I am taking an evening flight, go to the gym that day and get some physical energy out.
3. If I have time have a shower in the lounge.
4. Eat a solid meal in the lounge with a glass of wine or three.
5. On flight eat lightly and drink plenty of water.
6. try to get at least 4 hours sleep on day time, evening time flight no issue.
7. On arrival sunlight and fresh air, shower naturally. Have a busy day and struggly to 9pm at least. Collapse into bed.
In reality I try to arive on a Sunday to I have a day off. This allows me to enjoy the travel experience and some wine and movies

Does not help the jet lag though.
