Very so so

Stayed in the Excelsior hotel yesterday. Room with balcony and breakfast included.

I been staying in three hotel during the past days to see what was the most convenient, friendly etc. etc. HI, Renaissance and last the Excelsior. I must say that it was a very disappointing stay.

Horrible breakfast, Overpriced internet (30 euro for 24h) Valet parking which is not valet parking since it is operated by someone else. You also can't pay the parking at the hotel. Dated rooms. Horrible sheets, Extremely hot in the rooms and you can only cool it by opening the balcony doors.

The only positive there was the view!
Never again

Just getting back from a recent trip to Naples Italy & the Amalfi Coast (as well as beyond to Salerno & Paestum)

I did not stay at this hotel, (although we did use the bathrooms & they were nice), I wanted to provide some context for someone considering this hotel for leisure travel to Naples.

Beautiful hotel, with views of the bay & Mt Vesuvius. Very nice to walk along the bay.

That said, I felt the hotel was in a very sterile/touristy area.

Mrs Willie is not one to pass on luxury but she also much preferred our hotel ( www.hotelpiazzabellini.com ) that was easy walking distance to many sights as well as markets/shops where we could grab a quick/cheap/good bite & maybe a bottle of wine.

Back in the day when I was crazed about points, I would have for sure stayed at the Excelsior and probably very much enjoyed the luxury of the hotel, but this time I felt we had a better stay to maximize our travel experience, not to mention our travel dollar.
