Sorry to dig up an old thread but I couldn't find a definitive answer anywhere about whether the idea of booking AXON awards using one of your Amex authorized user's accounts was allowed or not.

I'm in the identical situation as the OP: I (gold status) am the primary cardholder on the HH Amex but have spent all the HHonors points out of my account, while the wife (silver status) is an authorized user on the Amex but has enough points in her own account for an AXON award stay that we need to make.

Is she allowed to book an AXON award with her account since she's an authorized user for the Amex linked to my account? Or does she need her own Amex where she's the primary cardholder in order to book AXON awards? Any help is appreciated, need to get this stay booked ASAP.
