Family of 4 (2 adults 2 kids) hoping to get out to NYC end of October/early November.

Can anyone suggest a hotel for a week stay, under $1500 for a week?? Decent enough to have kids and not in a horrible area preferred! Is this unreasonable for this time of year?

Was hoping to use HHonors points that I recently started on but it's about 80,000k a night, which is unfeasible for me.

Any NYC travel tips are appreciated! I apologize for my ignorance ahead of time.
