Indeed. I had a great Club Europe flight this evening with a decent meal on a less than 2 hour flight and excellent inflight service and proper preboarding- something that LH does not seem to be able to do at all on short haul out of many airports at the moment. And a proper closet for my jacket. And reserved space for business class baggage in the cabin which was not filled up later with bags from economy (frequent occurrence now on NEK flights). And enough washrooms on the aircraft that there was not a queue of economy passengers in the business cabin waiting for the toilet due to the removal of washrooms.
Oh- and even with a "discounted" business class fare I earned full business class tier points and mileage- which is something that cannot at all be said about LH at the moment- and changing the flight to a more convenient time for me? 45 EUR. On LH I don't think it would cost 45 EUR to change a restricted business ticket- or at least my experiences since last year have been numbers which are a lot larger than that.
Earlier this week I had another two very good flights long haul on QR where the service and catering were much closer in business to what LH provides in First than the current long haul business product- simply the number of staff alone in the business cabin (ratio to seats) is far higher. And the premium terminal experience for transfer at DOH compared to either FRA or MUC?
