Not in Scotland, it isn't! More like "Edin-bruh", with the d often a glottal stop.

Brits pronounce Houston as Hooston instead of Hewston as a local does.
Well, that is how you pronounce the original Houston (the one in Renfrewshire...)

But my favourite is a village in Scotland I stayed in for a while. The name is Ravenstruther and locals pronounce it Rainstree. Perhaps not so much a question of pronunciation as of lazy shortening like Trono from Toronto.
Ah, then you'd love Strathaven, Milngavie and Auchinleck!
