Completely crazy IMO. If that first GUM-NRT is late and you miss the VS flight, VS have every right to just say you were a no-show and out of luck. Buying a ticket to London last minute will cost you a fortune.
Fly in the night before and stay at a hotel near the airport.
On the return, don't you have more flight options NRT-GUM? Build in 4-5 hours to be safe...
