Did you ask BR for compensation right on the spot ? As that is how you usually handled for lost or damaged luggage, once you leave the airport you had less power to ask for any compensation.
Even though BR is being handled by 3rd party in HKG (I believe it is KA), they will still handle all the lost and damage luggage, and in that case, pay you in cash on the spot if you report right away.
So even though my bags were delayed as a result of my UA flight arriving late then it is BR responsibility for my claim.
I did not request anything at the airport as I was dealing with a 3rd party contractor and not BR directly. Should I still file a claim with BR?
