HNL-NRT-AKL is very doable as you probably already know.
AKL-HNL is going though its biggest travel boom its had since the 744s dropped the need to go via HNL. Wouldn't expect to see them giving any award seats away, when the flights are going out 100% fill. Could be worth looking at buying a fare, they have been selling AKL-HNL for $509ow (NZD) lately, I'm sure HNL-AKL would be around the same.
I would say from the end of Auckland NRT-AKL in J will dry up, the 789 will take over this route and only has 18 J seats vs the current 24 (763) / 26 (772)
