I stated that incorrectly. It is a r/t award ticket, however the outbound leg is good with the stopover in NRT. I'm just looking to find an interesting route back rather than the normal SYD-LAX-IAD route.

However the issue I'm running into with all the major Asian hubs is that the award availabilty back to the US is slim, and practically non-existent (at least on the united and ANA website) for the direct routes.
