I wonder if the OP books using a TA and if that would make a difference. I suppose part of what a TA is supposed to do is make sure these little things are taken care of.

Also, I suppose part of the articles we read about the proactive service is a bit of an advertisement. I think it might be a bit much to expect that someone would stock up your room with fresh fruit based on you eating a plate full of fruit at the buffet. Now if you were paying a lot more money, I would be more upset...Just my 2 cents.
