It is oft-repeated here that if you take a flight like SFO-LHR-AMS and drop the final segment, you may expect to receive a bill for the fare difference, particularly if you make a habit out of this activity.
My question is—entirely motivated by curiosity—does this actually happen? Can anyone say, "Yes, that happened to me and BA took me to a Small Claims Court to the tune of 10 flights each with a fare difference of £981—I am not doing that again!"? Or is it a sort of 'FlyerTalk myth' that in some abstract principle might happen but never in practice actually does?
