Delayed Baggage compensation; who do I file with UA or Eva
I booked two seperate tickets one under UA and one under Eva. My UA flight was delayed by 3 hours leaving IAH to SFO. My family and I barely made our connection in SFO to Eva (thankfully they held the flight for us, only becuase we were in J) but 2 out of 7 checked bags did not make the connection and were delayed 24 hours at our final destination in Hong Kong. The 2 bags which made the flight did not have any of our clothing in it.
My question is who should I file a claim to Eva or UA? Should I expect to receive anything? We had a 24 hour layover in Hong Kong and planned on sight seeing but that was a bust as we had to shop for clothes. We spent about $150 for my family of five.
I don't if I can claim on CC as I paid for the UA flight with Amex gold and for the Eva flight with Chase Sappire. I don't beleive any offer delayed luggage insurance.
