Why are so many against this? First of all, I what about when most airlines had air phones (including most American carriers).....no big deal then

I've had cell service on the last 6 out of 10 Emirates flights I've taken and have not noticed anyone complaining or even looking annoyed. It's very simple. In F or J it's no big deal as you are mostly sitting alone. In Y, if people are sleeping near you either move to the back of the plane or talk softly. Most calls are just a few min long anyway....it's not cheap
